Covid Round Robin Reveal!
Well, we finally all got together today (June 23) for our first sew day since mid-March! Becky set up her dining room and family room in such a way that we were able to social distance without a problem. Becky and Marg sat at the dining room table, Patti was in the next room on the longarm machine and Gail and I were at the “kids' table” in the family room. It was just wonderful getting together again.
Today was also the big reveal for our Covid quilts. OMG! I can't believe how wonderfully they turned out. Just to remind you of the different sections along the way here are the steps we followed:
First person: owner of the quilt makes the central block (12” or larger), includes any fabric they wish to have used in the quilt and any instructions for the others.
Second person: places the block on point with corner triangles and adds a 4” finished border using either rectangles, squares or a combination of both. They can also add any of their own fabrics to the box.
Third person: adds a 5” finished border using flying geese. They can also add any of their own fabrics to the box.
Fourth person: adds a 5” finished border using half-square triangles, triangles or diamonds.
Marg's was the first reveal. She made the centre block, Becky did step 2, Patti did step 3 & Sharon did step 4.
Patti's was the next reveal. She made the centre block, Sharon did step 2, Marg did step 3 & Becky did step 4.
Becky's was the next reveal. She made the centre block, Patti did step 2, Sharon did step 3 & Marg did step 4.
Sharon's was the last reveal. She made the centre block, Marg did step 2, Becky did step 3 & Patti did step 4.
As you can plainly see, they are all totally different and are all so beautiful. It was a lot of fun taking on this challenge together, and sometimes it definitely was challenging trying to determine how each border would look with the one before it.
